The word "root" has many definitions and in this case, we are portraying both the definition of "wishing the success of or lending support to someone or something" and the following definition as a metaphor for ourselves: "the part of a plant which attaches it to the ground or to a support, typically underground, conveying water and nourishment to the rest of the plant via numerous branches and fibers."
